Service Description

Friday weekly during the semester 16:15 - 18:15 pm Abstract and mixed-media painting classes Abstract painting is a form of art that does not attempt to represent external reality but instead seeks to achieve its effect using shapes, colors, forms, and textures. It often emphasizes an artist’s inner feelings and ideas rather than depicting recognizable objects. Abstract art can range from minimalist approaches, focusing on simple shapes and lines, to complex compositions with layered textures and vibrant colors. Mixed media painting involves the use of multiple materials and techniques in a single artwork. This can include combining traditional painting with collage, drawing, photography, and even digital elements. The goal is to create a piece that leverages the strengths of various mediums to produce a richer, more textured visual experience. We will be combining both for our Friday afternoon classes. In today's fast-paced world, it's more important than ever for children to engage in creative activities that stimulate both their minds and motor skills. Our abstract and mixed-media painting classes provide the perfect opportunity for children to explore their creativity in a fun and supportive environment. Through hands-on projects, students will experiment with various materials and techniques, enhancing their artistic expression while developing fine motor skills and problem-solving abilities. These classes not only foster a love for art but also contribute to overall well-being, helping children to feel more confident and relaxed. Importance for Children: 1. Fosters Creativity and Imagination: thinking outside the box and explore their creativity without the constraints of traditional representational art. 2. Enhances Problem-Solving Skills: making decisions about composition, color harmony, and the integration of different materials. This process nurtures their ability to think critically and solve problems creatively. 3. Builds Fine Motor Skills: improving children’s fine motor skills. The precise movements required for painting, cutting, and gluing contribute to better hand-eye coordination and dexterity. 4. Encourages Emotional Expression: providing a safe space for children to express their emotions and thoughts that they might find difficult to articulate verbally. 5. Promotes Open-Mindedness and Cultural Awareness 6. Develops Patience and Perseverance 7. Boosts Self-Esteem and Confidence
